West Norwood could benefit from housing development, LDA says

Published: 2009-09-18 10:19:17

A new study by the London Development Agency has identified West Norwood as one of seven south London town centres which could benefit from new, well designed homes.(Sourced from Croydon Guardian.)

The study aims to inform the debate about the future shape of London’s housing growth, especially in its suburbs.

Different scenarios have been examined for each area and aim to show a positive approach to planning can meet the demand for new homes while respecting the existing heritage of each area.

In West Norwood, the scenarios show how 160-240 new homes could be built, through either the redevelopment of individual sites or the development of a few large sites, combined with new shops and business space.
