The final countdown
Published: 2009-06-03 17:42:42 Okra Landscape Architects and a team led by James Corner Field Operations have been short-listed in the international competition to redesign Wellesley Road, in Croydon town centre. The winner will be announced in July.
After the announcement, chairman of the judging panel councillor Steve O'Connell said: "These two choices were the most appreciated by all of the assessors. They were very well elaborated in terms of both urban design and the strategies put forward to make them into a reality. "These two designers have lived up to their professional credentials and, most importantly, paid close attention to Croydon's local context." More information about the competition can be found at www.croydonthirdcity.co.uk and in the next issue of City3 magazine. |
