TfL cash to improve Norwood JunctionPublished: 2010-07-06 13:22:06 The passenger experience at Norwood Junction will soon be easier and more pleasant thanks to £280,000 of funding from Transport for London (TfL).
Once complete there will be a series of improvements in place including: • improved crossing places on the busiest approach roads, • specially designed access for those with mobility and sight impairments, • crime-reduction and safety measures, • better access to buses and taxis, • integrated cycle routes, • improvements to station entrances, • a redesigned forecourt offering secure accommodation for bicycle and disabled parking, • enhanced lighting. Councillor Jason Perry, cabinet member for planning, conservation and climate change, said: “We’re very pleased to have obtained the additional funding that’s making possible all the planned improvements. "This scheme will make a big, positive difference to everybody who uses Norwood Junction station and we’re delighted to now be in a position to see it going ahead." |
