House that!

Published: 2009-07-29 11:19:15

Croydon continues to show signs of strength during the recession, with the news it was leading the charge of London boroughs registering house price growth last month.

Research that tracks asking prices across the country reported an average price increase of 0.6 % to £227,864. London increases were ahead of the average with Westminster posting a 5.2 percent increase, followed closely by Croydon and Camden.

The survey, carried out by Rightmove, suggested the housing market would remain in a 'steady state' during the second half of 2009. For a more detailed look at the Rightmove House Price Index click here
