Schools plans approved

Croydon's blueprint for school transformation across the borough and plans for a new primary school in Selhurst were approved by the Transforming Croydon Schools Cabinet sub-committee yesterday evening.
 
Croydon Council's Strategy for Change Document - which outlines how the council intends to use Government funding granted by the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme - follows on from the council's formal entry onto the BSF programme in December. read more

High street favourite John Lewis has selected Croydon as the next location for the continued expansion of its 'at home' store range.
 
The shop is due to open this summer, while further stores in Swindon and Tunbridge Wells are expected in the autumn. read more
